He introduced the stories in a very humorous way and was always willing to answer our questions. We not only had the chance to enjoy the panoramic view of Montserrat but also tried a very decent tapas meal in a nearby winery. Highly recommened to those who like to have an excursion outside of Barcelona!

The time arrangement for this time was smooth and good travel experience. The lunch package was good. Dani is a good tour guide for the winery, enjoy the trip.

The visit to Montserrat was breathtaking, and I'm not just saying that cause I'm afraid of heights!! The bus ride was entertaining with our guides offering history, in an engaging way. The guides were…just cool. People you'd like to hang out with. They really knew their history. I would have liked to stay on the mountain another hour to explore, but this gives me one more reason to visit Barcelona again 🙂 The wine tour was equally fun. Be ready to have a few drinks. There was wine with lunch, at the end a shot of a "digestive" sweet/spiced wine, then a wine tasting with healthy portions from three kinds of wine. Oh and at the Montserrat gift shop we got a voucher for a small tasting of their liquors offered in the shop. Most folks had a great nap on the bus ride back to town. Overall a great experience.

Then we were divided into language groups and the English tour departed without us, even though we came forward immediately when called. We had to ask three people in Spanish where we had to go. The guide spoke very quickly, did not always wait for the group to be within hearing range and had to speak while we were on the little train which made so much noise it was impossible to follow the commentary. Essentially the visit consisted of a video which explained quite well and then a traipse through the various wine cellars which added very little to the video. Compared with other wine tours which we had done we considered this very poor. There was nothing on cooperage. At the end the tasting was an embarrassment. We were seated with others who had tickets which entitled them to a tiny plate of tapas which we were not entitled to. We had no choice on which 2 of 4 sherries to taste and were left to find our way out.

The guide was really knowledgeable and chatty and we learnt a lot. The vineyard we visited was beautiful, off the beaten track but the house and restaurant were both pristine. We looked at the menu and will be returning for a lunch some day soon. Would highly recommend this for people living here like us or as part of your holiday. 5 stars *****

The food was delicious and plentiful, good wine and company, and we learned a lot about Madrid’s history, culture, and food. Well worth the money! We visited 2 restaurants where we sat as a group and 2 hectic busy standup places to be part of the true tapas experience. Loved it!

Furthermore, the person at the entrance did not take into account the type of booking we had made: we paid 22 euros per person for 4 tastings and tapas. At first we only got 2 tastings and no tapas. Fortunately we were alert enough to fix this.

His knowledge of the wines and tapas bars was very excting. I had a wonderful evening in the company of four Icelandic couples who welcomed me into the group. Despite the impenetrable Icelandic language we managed to communicate the essential and share our joint appreciation. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

The tour was in German! All you had to do was show the mobile voucher on your cell phone, which is another plus point. You save paper. The tour was very interesting, as was the subsequent tasting. I had now ordered the tickets for 21 euros and we were allowed to try two sherries. You could then cost another glass for 1.50 each. In the end we were able to buy these bottles in the shop. The ones we were interested in cost between 7-15 euros. Then there was a lot more things to discover in this shop from cheap to very expensive … I think there is something for everyone. 🙂

The sommelier was experienced but motivated to ask hardly any questions after a question was answered with "You can read everything on the Internet". She runs through her program quickly and leaves guests alone to continue drinking and dining. Nevertheless, I would recommend this tour to others. The wines were good and the information was interesting.
